Great service but a little pricey. Still worth it.
Nice atmosphere and easy going staff; Kristina is especially great to work with and my wife states I've had my best haircuts from American Male. A little more expensive than a typcial haircut joint, but it's a better product/service. There's a 20% off coupon for your first time there (available on their website).

I grew my beard for a month for Movember and decided that I might keep it if it could be shaped into something more business like versus the cave man do I had going on. They were the only mens specialist barber shop open day after thanksgiving, and I showed up for my appointment. It began well with a pretty good shape on the beard until the young lady accidentally shaved off my beard right where the side burns should have been, she was sincerely apologetic but the damage was done and we decided to get rid of the entire beard. No excuses for a professional shop to make such a mistake, could have been a groom or a model getting ready for a shoot, in my case I walked out with a half done goatee that I would later fashion on my own. The only reason they even get a second star is because they were courteous enough to be sorry and not charge me for the cut! Probably won't be going back there anytime soon!
I can understand being backed up. I can understand being behind on appointments. I do not understand ignoring a potential customer because of either of these. In an area with more than 10 haircut places within a 10 mile radius most of which are half the price and greet you at the door why would anyone be willing to spend $35+ to be ignored for 20 minutes is something I can not fathom. I hope your other locations run smoother.
I called to set up an appointment for a haircut in advanced for 2pm. Upon arriving five minutes early, I was greeted by an empty desk at the front door and blank stares from the two employees cutting hair. Undeterred by this lack of attention in what is described as a spa, I hung my coat and sat down. Three employees walked past me while waiting as though I was not there. Hey, I was early, maybe someone would stop by at my appointment time.
This was also not the case. 15 minutes into sitting in what I assume was the waiting area I was asked if I was there to check in and offered a drink. Ok now they know I am here and should be asked to head back, or at least I thought that would be the case. Another five minutes of waiting with 2 more employees walking past with not so much as a hello, one of which was walking a finished customer to the door was enough for me to see my business was not need.
